The Underground Sessions
The Underground Sessions is an open-mic night held at the Axis Theatre in Ballymun, Dublin. It's a space where aspiring musicians can come and showcase their talent.
This 30 min programme with music and interviews was produced by NearTV Volunteers Paul Daly, Dermot Day, Dave Donnellan, Phil McGibney and Dean Scurry.
Queer FM
Near90FM celebrates Gay Pride this week with the launch of its first Gay radio content programme, QueerFM, broadcasting the day after their appearance in this years Pride Parade. Presenters David Hawk and Donna Kelly will be co-hosting the programme that will cover a wide range of issues that affect the Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual and Transgender community. "This is a groundbreaking event" commented David Hawk, "and I'm pleased that Near90FM, with its history of service to the community, is the station to host Dublin's first regular gay radio programme."

UPDATE - Near90FM breaks new ground as the first community radio station to take part in Dublin Pride.
This year, Near's new gay radio programme (QueerFM) presenters Donna Kelly and David Hawk, will be joined by other NEARFM presenters as they take part in the annual gay pride parade, where they will be broadcasting live along the parade route while promoting their new programme due to air the following day at 5:30pm. The live broadcast starts at 13.30 this Saturday.
