On 10 October 2009, the Northside Civic Centre hosted a new debate ahead of the second referendum on the Lisbon Treaty. Cllr. Andrew Montegue (Labour), Gay Mitchell MEP (FG), Niamh Gallagher (Women for Europe) and Cllr. Julia Carmichael (FF) spoke is support of the Treaty. Asking for a 'No' vote were Roger Cole (Peace and Neutrality Alliance), Patricia McKenna (People's Movement) and Mark Walsh (Campaign against an European Constitution).

Curtain Up

The first programme of the new series of ‘Curtain Up’, which was broadcast on 5 September. ‘Curtain-Up’ is a live radio series featuring all aspects of amateur theatre. It is broadcast every Saturday from 12.30pm – 1.30pm. The programme is presented by members of the NEARfm radio station drama company. Each programme has a slot called Drama NoticeBoard, which promotes drama productions.

It features Kay Farrell (seated), who was the special guest on the first programme, which was a tribute to all her work over the years in amateur theatre.

What does the treaty mean to you?
In collaboration with Northside Community Forum we will be broadcasting tonight (September 10th) a live debate on the Lisbon Treaty. The debate will be taking place at the Northside Civic Centre in Coolock.
